Sportsmen/women should not get paid to play sport.

• It’s their job so they should
• They spend all of their time doing it
• They will stop playing it

I believe that sports people should get paid for playing a sport especially if you are famous because of it. Like it's their job therefore they should get paid for it, there is no reason for the rest of us to get paid for doing our jobs if they aren't.

For example actors like Jennifer Lawrence or Brad Pitt they are getting paid to entertain us right? So how is that any different from what the all blacks or the silver ferns are doing, don’t they entertain you?

If you stop paying them they will eventually stop playing and then we won’t get to watch the sport, no one will be playing it because they want to get paid for it. Athletes spend all of their time either playing or training for whatever sport they play, so don’t you think that if they put so much time, money and effort into it they should be getting paid.
